The Congress of the European Transplantation Society has the patient´s vision through the EKPF
These days the Congress of the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) is being held in Milan. We are very grad because yesterday Sunday August 29, the president of the EKPF, Daniel Gallego, presented the patient’s point of view. Daniel’s participation was entitled “Accepting the risk: the patient perspective“, in a table “A 360-degree view of risk.”
In his presentation, Daniel Gallego indicated that “we can minimize the risk of transplantation, both in taking decisions, such as in the management of medication, adherence, education and symptoms, knowing how the transplanted person feels and how he or she is experiencing it and thus improve the quality of life related to their health ”.
In addition the day before the beginning of the Congress (28th of August), ESOT organized an interesting webinar entitled: “When every small step is a step forward. Being physically active after solid organ transplantation” and it was moderated by Colin White and Fiona Loud, both members of the EKPF.
The ESOT Congress is the main scientific forum at European level for professionals involved in organ transplantation, bringing together health professionals involved in this complex therapy that saves thousands of lives every year and requires the solidarity of the population in order to be carried out: the process of organ donation.
