EKPF Participates in the European Kidney Forum 2026: Addressing the Gender Gap in Kidney Health

On 13 October 2026, the European Kidney Patients’ Federation (EKPF) participated in the European Kidney Forum 2026, organised by the European Kidney Health Alliance (EKHA) at the European Parliament in Brussels.

This year’s Forum, entitled “Kidney Health Disparities – Addressing the Gender Gap”, focused on the inequalities women face in kidney health, from prevention and early diagnosis to access to treatment, transplantation and long-term care.

The event brought together Members of the European Parliament, policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers and patient representatives to discuss how gender influences kidney health and explore ways to improve equity in kidney care across Europe.

As a member of EKHA, EKPF was pleased to take part in this important discussion and continue advocating for equitable, patient-centred kidney care for everyone, ensuring that patients’ needs and experiences remain at the heart of European health policies.

We thank EKHA for organising this important event and for continuing to raise awareness of kidney health at European level.
