First IgAN Friends In-Person Meeting Brings the Community Together in Brussels

On 9 June, the IgAN Friends community held its first-ever in-person meeting in Brussels, bringing together patients, healthcare professionals, researchers and advocates from across Europe for a day of learning, discussion and connection.

Over the past year, IgAN Friends has continued to grow, with increasing membership and a wide range of community activities. This gathering marked an important milestone, offering the opportunity to finally meet face-to-face, strengthen relationships and reflect on the journey so far.

The programme included expert-led sessions on living with IgA Nephropathy, covering topics such as the latest developments in treatment and care, nutrition and lifestyle, mental wellbeing, and the importance of effective communication between patients and healthcare professionals. Participants also took part in a patient insights panel, networking activities and discussions about the future direction of the community.

For EKPF, it was especially rewarding to see so many members of the IgAN community come together in such an open and supportive environment. We are incredibly proud to have helped create and grow this community, and we are excited about what comes next.

A huge thank you to all speakers, participants and supporters who contributed to making the event such a meaningful and inspiring experience.
