geneTIGA Launches Educational Video: A New Hope for People with IgA Nephropathy

We’re excited to announce the launch of the new geneTIGA educational video, created to raise awareness and understanding of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and the innovative research that aims to improve its treatment.

As full partners in the geneTIGA project, the EKPF is proud to contribute directly to this groundbreaking work, which uses advanced gene editing technologies to develop a new, more effective therapy for people living with IgAN.

The video explains, in simple terms, how geneTIGA’s approach works: by modifying a patient’s own T cells to precisely target and eliminate the harmful B cells involved in the disease, while sparing healthy cells and minimizing side effects. This process begins with a simple blood sample, from which T cells are extracted, modified, and reintroduced into the patient’s body—turning them into precise hunters of the disease’s cause.

This innovative therapy could offer a safer and more efficient treatment alternative for people affected by IgA nephropathy.

👉 Watch the video now and help us share it to raise awareness of this important work. Together, we can accelerate progress in the fight against IgA nephropathy.
