On Wednesday, December 6, the inaugural virtual meeting of the Global Patient Alliance for Kidney Health took place. EKPF recently joined this Alliance. This international alliance, comprising members from all five continents and experiencing substantial growth, aims to raise global awareness and improve access to early detection and treatment of chronic kidney disease. The international union of renal patient advocacy associations has three priority objectives:

  1. Increase awareness of the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease in global and regional policy forums.
  2. Collaborate with policymakers at the World Health Organization to prioritize policies that enhance access to early detection and treatment of chronic kidney disease.
  3. Support renal patient advocates at the national level seeking to inform national policymakers about the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment for individuals with chronic kidney disease.
