KREW Camp 2024: A Memorable Adventure in Den Helder, Netherlands
From June 21 to June 28, the city of Den Helder in the Netherlands hosted an unforgettable KREW camp. This year, 35 children from six different countries gathered for a week filled with fun, learning, and cultural exchange.
The camp was packed with a variety of activities. Participants enjoyed swimming, visiting the Maritime Museum where they had the unique experience of touring a submarine, cycling around the beautiful city of Den Helder, and playing mini-golf. Among the participants, we were proud to support one child undergoing dialysis, ensuring that everyone had an inclusive and enjoyable experience.
The accommodations were exceptional, providing the perfect base for our outdoor adventures. The incredible weather allowed us to make the most of our time outside, adding to the overall enjoyment of the camp.
Each night, we celebrated with a different country-themed evening. These thematic nights were not only entertaining but also educational, as we learned about each other’s cultures and traditions, fostering a spirit of unity and understanding among the campers.
Overall, the KREW camp in Den Helder was an incredible experience that brought together children with kidney disease, providing them with lasting memories and new friendships. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come.
