Sign up to the webinar: The impact of COVID-19 on immunocompromised patients and lessons learned

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the unmet needs of 13 million immunocompromised EU citizens, including organ transplant recipients, severe CKD patients, patients with haematological malignancies, among others. As the EU built up a strong response to the COVID-19 pandemic and paved the way for better preparedness capabilities, these patients remain at a higher risk of contracting and experiencing more severe outcomes from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Insufficient immune response to vaccination, lower vaccine booster uptake in the general population, escape variants evading authorised vaccines and treatments, all pose a significant risk to this sub-group.

The aim of this event is to discuss with patients, industry, experts and policymakers on the impact of COVID-19 on immunocompromised patients, gaps in the policy response and future preparedness through dedicated measures.

The event will also launch the informal group “MEPs protecting immunocompromised patients against infectious diseases”, supported by the ECPC, EKHA, EKPF, ESOT, ExeVir, UNION therapeutics. Sign up to the webinar here: https://lnkd.in/eEpxSqjw

Daniel, EKPF president, is one of the 13 million #immunocompromised patients living in the EU. At the upcoming webinar on the impact of #COVID19 on immunocompromised patients and the lessons learned he will present “Disruptions and unwanted consequences: towards a patient-centric pandemic response”.
